Bits 'N' Pieces About Real HorsesAnd Other Stuff...April 2000 |
Hollywood Gold was born and raised on the 6666 Ranch in Texas. He was a good-natured yellow dun American Quarter Horse stallion who lived from 1940-1964. A natural cow horse, Hollywood Gold was quick, had tremendous stamina and could outsmart any cow. Best known for his progeny, Hollywood Gold sired Hollywood Lin, the 1964 National Cutting Horse Association World Champion Cutting Horse.
He also sored Hollywood Cat, who was inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame. And he sired Hollywood Ollie, Hollywood Snapper, and Mr. Gold 95, all NCHA Silver Award Winners.
I'm glad I live in modern times,
And these new things they've found.
Cause engines now pull all the stuff
And we just horse around!
Q: What will by the Tour horse for the Breyer Tours this year? (Including PBR?)
A: From what we foudn out, this model is the Man O War, in a brownish Appaloosa color. His mane, tail and legs are very dark, maybey black. He has a dark head with a wide blaze and white muzzle, rear socks and a spotted blanket. He looks really nice, a great collector's piece.
Q: What is the Breyerfest Model?
A: This is the Lady Phase model in a buckskin tobiano. She has a dark head, with a blaze, mostly white body, with buckskin flank area, and a spot on her back, the upper part of her man, forelock and tail tip looks to be dark or black.
Q: Do you know what the Jamboree horse will be?
A: They will have several special models. The Breyer one is the NSH in a golden champagne color with blaze and 4 socks. They will introduce the new Stone Arabians, with 2 new colors, a liver chestnut and a bay model, they are calling NSH. It will be interesting to see what they look like. (Though several people have mentioned that they look a lot like the Breyer Clock model, and even the PAS reworked, another though it looked similr to the Stone Morgan. Guess we'll wait & See!)
