We wonder who will be the horse this year!
Can you answer these? They are our heritage.
In honor of the passing of Abdullah, we will include some interesting facts about this famous Breyer horse.
With the passing of Marguerite Henry last year, model #20 Misty has been retired in hor original colors and reissued as a new pony in a different color. Misty was especially prized by Ms. Henry, author of Misty of Chincoteague and many other horse stories. And when she was made into a model, the first issue was sent to Ms. Henry. While she was elated to have one of her characters sculpted into a Breyer mold, the first Mistys were not right! Misty's eye-circle was on the wrong side! Ms. Henry immediately contacted Breyer Molding Ocmpany and told them how excited she was and about the eye-circle. breyer quickly reacted and promptly changed the circle to the correct eye, but not before some of the models had left the factory (these of course are ghighly prized by collectors). With all the wonderful stories that Marguerite Henry wrote, we are all sure to miss her creative pen.
